The Design Review Services for DB2 for LUW engagement provides your organization with an in-depth analysis and review of your existing DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows environments. An in-depth analysis and recommendation report is provided to your organization as a result of this engagement.

Background Information

The service engagement is broken down into five distinct sections, which include:

System Hardware & Software Review - This section provides an analysis and recommendations for the DB2 server’s system hardware and software configuration. The primary focus of this section is to analyze and provide recommendations for configuring and optimizing the system hardware and operating system software for the role of a dedicated database server.

Instance & Database Review - This section provides an analysis and recommendations for the DB2 instance and database installation and configuration. The primary focus of this section is to analyze and provide recommendations for best practices for installing, creating, and configuring instances as well as creating databases, table spaces, and buffer pools in a DB2 environment.

Operations & Maintenance Review - This section provides an analysis and recommendations for the DB2 database maintenance. The primary focus of this section is to analyze and provide recommendations for database maintenance procedures that should be performed on a regular schedule.

Recovery & High Availability Review - This section provides an analysis and recommendations for implementing DB2 database recovery and high availability strategies. The primary focus of this section is to analyze and provide recommendations for keeping the database available for application processing as well as being able to recovery the database in the event of a catastrophic system failure.

Performance & Tuning Review - This section provides an analysis and recommendations for optimizing the DB2 system, instance, and database performance. The primary focus of this section is to analyze and provide recommendations for optimizing and tuning instance and database configuration parameters.
